Good as Wen!?

Bought this at cvs today for an awesome price!! I actually bought two for 6.99 each -20% off employee discount = 11.18 – 2x $2/1 mq = $7.14 – $1/1 cvs q – $5ecb = $1.74 oop 😉 got back $5ecb!! Needless to say; a lot less expensive than Wen (which has been my holy grail for a year almost!) I just wanna see if it even compares. If not, I’ll pass it on. I will give it a shot and let you know my opinions 😉 until then…

Nail polish deals at tjmaxx

I went into tj maxx looking for clothes and found some other good deals instead! I got two nicole nail polishes for $3 each (regularly $8) that were just what I was looking for! They had the pale light pink and mint ones! I tried this look last night after seeing it on a YouTube channel and it came out terrible! Can’t wait to revamp it!
**Update: These polishes are crap! There’s no color payoff at all 😦  So sad.  I have 4 coats of the mint on right now & nothing.  I will continue to look & might use these as top coats because they are pretty shiney! Boo 😦

I also found these cute black patent flats by kenneth cole! $30 which is kind of high, but that’s what target would probably charge for a similar pair of less quality.

Forever 21 jewelry clearance!!

Forever 21 is having a b1g1 free for all their clearance items. Of course the clothes are way too intimidating for me, but the jewelry section was pretty organized and not picked over! That could be bc it wasn’t marked very well! Oh well… More for us 😉

I got five necklaces and three rings for $12 I think? Not bad considering the regular price of the necklaces was up to 3.80 for one 🙂

Clearance && rare finds at Kroger!

I’m going to start blogging via my phone so maybe I will be able to do this more often and for smaller purchases, too?! Excited to give it a try 🙂

I got three maybelline lipsticks that are hard as hell to find in the drugstores and I’ve been looking for awhile now! They were 6.58 I think and I found a $1/1 mq attached on a display! Yay 🙂

I also picked up the Maybelline powder for $.81 after 75% off clearance and the $1/1 mq. The Milani baked eye shadow was on clearance for 75% off making it $1.40 😉

Hiatus

So – if you haven’t noticed, I haven’t been posting much on this blog recently.

I’m going to make it official – I’m going on a couponing hiatus until we move.   I’ve been consistently couponing for over a year now and I will admit that I have enough products to last Zach, myself & a small army of people, a good amount of time.  Also, we’re downsizing (First, to save money.  Second, because we’ll both be working a lot and there’s not point to work for a bigger apt when you’re only there for a small fraction of the day).  Downsizing = less space for my hoard *ahem* stockpile 😉  First off, we’ll be going from two bathrooms to store stuff in, to one bathroom, and right now,  I rely heavily on the under-sink area for storage.  Also, I want to use what we currently have so I don’t have to move it.  That was the worst part of the whole moving experience that year.  I had to move a lot of my stockpile items.  Let me assure you, my stock pile in a small 1-bedroom apt with practically no closet space is a lot easier than the stockpile I have today.  I will probably be giving away a TON of items before I move, so PLEASE let me know if you need anything and I will check into it (mostly lotions, toothbrushes, toothpaste & razors – if you ask for something, you are not allowed to be brand-specific!)

I will continue to get the weekly newspaper and cut out coupons from the ONE edition I get a week (compared to two or four papers).  I’m going to try and still be a frugal person, especially in the food department.  I’m just not going to have huge CVS hauls or huge Rite Aid hauls anymore.

Shoot, who knows? Maybe I”ll read a book this summer or something!

I have a serious problem …

Youtube is making me broke!  Thank god I can combine one obsession to feed the other.  Couponing is helping me get the best prices on all of the makeup items I want to try and that have been recommended.

Paid $14.02 oop

I had $8 +up rewards to start.

Knee highs = $5.49 b1g1 FREE

Yoohoo = $1 each (x4) = $4 oop

Revlon Just Bitten = b1g150% off $8.99  & $4.50 – two $1/1 MQ’s = $11.49 oop

I paid $14.02 oop, and got back $1 +up rewards for buying 4 yoohoo.  I should have gotten a $4 +up reward for buying two Revlon items, but it didn’t print out.  I’ll give them a call and have them mail it to me.

Paid $26.20 oop

I started with $7 ecb.

Transaction #1:

This is not shown. I purchased the Physicians Formula Wrinkle Corrector & Firming Moisturizer for $19.99 – 20% employee discount = $15.99

I then used the $7 ecb to pay a tad less than $10. HOWEVER, I used an Olay Rebate, so the actual oop = 0 for this.  I then got $15 ecb for buying the moisturizer (for my mah)

Transaction #2:

Starbucks Refreshers (not shown) x2 = $3/2 – two $1/1 MQ’s = $1 oop

Oral-B Toothbrushes = $5.99 each – $5/2 MQ = $6.98 oop

Maybelline Color Tattoo pots = $6.99 each – 20% employee discount = $11.18 for both – two $1/1 MQ’s = $9.18 for both oop

Physicians Formula Eyeliners $10.99 – 20% discount – $1/1 MQ = $7.79 oop

Wet ‘n’ Wild Eyeshadow pencil = $1.99 – 20% = $1.59 oop

Wet ‘n’ Wild Lipstick/Lipgloss Set = $2.99 – 20% = $2.39 each oop

Maybelline Blush = $7.99 – 20% employee discount – $1/1 MQ = $5.39 oop

I used a $4/$12 Cosmetics CVS Q from the red machine & my $15 ecb from Transaction #1.  I also used the rest of the $15 olay rebate card, ending up paying $26.20 oop.  I got back $4 ecb for buying $10 in Revlon items, $1 ecb for buying 2 refreshers, $5 ecb for buying PF Cosmetics, $10 for buying the two Oral B toothbrushes && $3 ecb for buying $10 worth of Maybelline eye items.  I will also have a $5 ecb that should print out pretty soon for reaching another $50 marker in beauty purchases.  Even though I didn’t spend $50, the amount that each item is regular priced (i.e. before 20% & before ecb) counts towards the $5 ecb printing! Yay 🙂

$3 Philosophy makeup items at Big Lots!!

I was watching Youtube videos and came across a “Haul” video where the girl mentions that Philosophy items are at Big Lots for $3 — of course I ran out to get some!  The first one I went to didn’t have any, so I tried the other one & it was hard to find, but they had a bunch of them!  I picked up one of each item they had (four in total) and each was $3.  I am so excited and happy to use and try these!

The pic below is what the boxes look like if you’re trying to find them!  I found them in the makeup isle, hung up with no special markings.

Total oop = $12.60

Below is what each item looks like.  I got a [L-R] Blush/highlight, eyeshadow duo in Heaven/Earth, lipgloss and Blush.

Hopefully if you want these, your Big Lots will have them!

This is getting me really excited for all the good makeup deals starting tomorrow at Rite Aid and CVS.  I’m stocking up on Physicians Formula at RA since it’s B1G1 FREE and get $5 +up rewards wys $20 — aka 4 items for around $15!  Nice!  Unfortunately, I don’t have any more $1/1 MQ’s, or it would be cheaper!

I’m also excited for the $4 ecb wys $10 in Revlon items at CVS.  I want to try the new Revlon ColorStay foundation in the pots.  They’ll be about $13.99 – 20%, then  I’ll get $4 ecb back.  Not too bad.  Hopefully Ulta will start a new NYX promotion, too, that I can combine with my $5/$15 Q from Allure Magazine.  I have a ton of NYX items on my wish list right now, it’s getting hard to resist the urge to buy everything.

Sorry I’ve been so MIA!!

Okay, so as some of you (my loyal stalkers) have mentioned that I haven’t updated this blog in awhile.  Well, it’s kind of hard to do so when you work 11 hour long days and when you wake up at 7 and go to sleep at 10 because you are granny status.  I apologize, and I cannot guarantee that it won’t happen again.  Well, I tried to do a video a couple weeks back, but it was a total fail. I have since then stolen my mom’s camcorder (it was a lot easier to convince her to let me have it when I explained that I could make money from Youtube videos lol) but I haven’t got the guts to do it, yet.  Until then, I am going to continue to write everything out with pictures, etc.

Well, I skipped last week, but let me tell you some of the stuff I got!  I got the L’Oreal Souffle (in the cube with pink top) and I LOVE it. Who would have thought that I was the 2nd lightest shade (as compared to the lightest) though?!  I feel so TAN! 🙂  I also got the primer, and I can already tell that I’m not going to use it often. It doesn’t go a very good job at spreading out.  I am addicted to the Hard Candy Sheer Envy primer, though. It’s my new favorite!  That deal was b1g1 50% off, I had two $2/1 MQ’s, and you got a $10 gas card wys $30 in select items. I picked up some popcorn, too, and ended up getting a relatively good deal on the products.

Anyway, this week I do have pictures to show you, but mostly they are makeup items.  I’ve stopped buying other things since I plan on moving into a smaller apt this summer, and it’s just more things I’ll need to pack and move (even though we’re planning on staying in the same building! LOL)  However, I can’t help myself with free tampons!

Spent $7.87 oop

I started out with $8 in +up rewards, so that helped a lot.  I also had a 10% off coupon which made the cosmetics cheaper since those weren’t “on sale” but they were part of a +up rewards deal 🙂 Kind of like my employee discount at CVS, but my discount is way better!

Anywayyyyyy, my transaction:

Maybelline Eyeliner: $6.83 (after 10%) – $1/1 MQ = $5.83 oop

Maybelline Eye Shadow: $6.02 (after 10%) – $1/1 MQ = $5.02 oop

Tampax : $3.99 on sale – $2/1 MQ = $1.99 oop each

after the $8 in +up rewards, I spent $7.87 oop total. I then got back two $2 +up rewards from the Tampax & a $4 +up rewards for spending $12 in Maybelline eye & lip products.

PAS MAL 😀

My next transaction is from CVS — which my iPhone likes to autocorrect to CBS & it annoys the crap out of me!  Does anybody know how to fix that?  I’m newb status.

I split this into two separate transactions, but of course, I didn’t need to. I will explain soon.

paid $20.60 oop

TRANSACTION #1

Physicians Formula skincare – rang up on clearance for $5.25

I used $5 ecb + paid $.26 oop from a money card.  I separated this because I thought it was going to be regular price at $20.99 (minus 20% employee discount) and then I’d get $15 ecb back to use on my 2nd transaction.  The $15 ecb didn’t print, but I don’t mind because I’d rather pay less oop up front. However, I will go to another CVS at work this week and pick up this deal for my mom since she is looking for an anti-aging moisturizer with SPF and there was one just like what she was looking for.  I just have to make suMilkre it’s not on clearance 😉

TRANSACTION #2

Milky way $.75 each – $.75/2 MQ = $.75 oop

Colgate toothbrush = $2.99 – $1/1 CVS Q from the red machine = $1.99 oop

Crest Rinse $4.19 – 20% employee discount- $1/1 CVS Q from red machine = $2.35 oop

L’Oreal Lip Balm = $8.39 each – 20% – $2/1 MQ = $4.71 oop each 😉

Revlon Eyebrow Pencil = $10.49 – 20% = $8.39 oop (I used all the $2/1 MQ’s at RA the other week to get free/nearly free clearance items!)

Wet & Wild Blush in Pearlescent Pink (dupe for Tarte’s Peaceful) = $2.99 – 20% = $2.39 (I used all my MQ’s to get W&W eyeshadows at RA last week!)

After the $6 ecb I had, I paid $20.34 oop. I got back $.75 from Milky way, $2 from colgate, $3 from Crest, $5 from L’Oreal & $4 from Revlon.  Hopefully I can use these ecb towards another physicians formula item and get $15 ecb. I also want to check out the limit on the Revlon ecb deal, because I want to try their new eyeshadow duo stick.
